Gripe water sent u.s. to the ER

I gave my 3 month old gripe h2o this afternoon to calm his tummy. I used the syringe and he started crying right as I put it in his rima oris so he aspirated. He choked and so hard and couldn't breathe and his lips turned bluish. He was cough and wheezing for most 20 min, I called the nurse line and she told me to have him in correct abroad. He got a breast X-ray and everything is fine, no fluid. Only they told me to spotter for a fever or a cough every bit he could peradventure get pneumonia at present. Never giving him gripe water once more which sucks because it totally works for him :(

Im sorry LO experienced this. A trivial advice though (strictly because I've found that the syringe tin be also forceful) you tin put it into a bottle and give information technology to y'all LO this mode.

I'm so sorry!! I manner to assistance this from happening, and this is only a suggestion for you lot NOT a judgement at all, is to point the syringe towards their cheek inside their mouth when giving medicine. This may not take helped in your case though simply commonly it gives the baby a chance to realize in that location is something in their mouth and to consume instead of it shooting straight towards their pharynx. I'yard pitiful this happened, I hope your LO is Ok!

He'south perfectly fine now! I did point it towards his cheek when I gave information technology to him..merely one time I call up almost it, where I went incorrect was I didn't take him sitting up enough.

I hope your lo will feel better presently. I had a very similar consequence with mommys bliss too. Information technology'southward been always scary to me too. The fact that my girl can suck everything in the dropper suddenly and on her own, I take never filled the dropper more than 0.2 ml at one fourth dimension. Otherwise she coughs and wheezes scarily after sucking all.

I agree with the other affiche, use the top of a bottle to put the medicine in instead of using the syringe. I just use the syringe to measure the amount and and so put it in the nipple of a bottle and she will drinkable it that fashion. I do this for infant Tylenol besides and information technology worked great! She will drink every driblet of it wth no problem.

I apply a pacifier medicine loving cup. You and measure out with the syringe and and so put it in the pacifier. The baby sucks out the medicine through the hole

I have one of those and the hole is huge so it just dumps it in his mouth :(

My daughter kept coughing/choking with the syringe so I put information technology in a canteen and she drinks it without a problem.
